Wireless Communications to Enable the Internet of Things

In conjunction with the 9th meeting of the Wireless Sensing Interest Group, organised by the Sensors and Instrumentation and Electronics Knowledge Transfer Networks.
Very interesting talks, caught my eye David Gascon's from Libelium, a young and vibrant spanish SME, a picture of David presenting and another of their technology compared with a "ciruela" is shown here.
Tim Kindberg, from Matter 2 Media, talked about his research and others' in the Sentient City. Excellent work too. Web of things, urban environments, human behaviour...very good overview of real examples of sensing and applications in urban environments.
Apoideas, SME based in Cambridge, UK, and its end-to-end low energy cellular (GSM) platform, had a stand in the event. They showed their solution connected to a number of sensors, hence the carpet!!!
The event was hosted by the University of Surrey, The Centre for Communication Systems Research.
